The Highland Fighting Scots have tied a school record for the most consecutive wins in a season. The Scots won their 10th baseball game in a row by defeating Northmor, 20-0. The Scots share the record with the 2009 Fighting Scots team.
Dalton Stambaugh picked up the win (6-2) while Junior Conner Ulrey and Senior Jeremy Gahm pitched in relief. The Scots pitching staff held the Golden Knights to 1 hit on the night.
The Scots offense pounded out 15 hits en route to their 20 run output. They scored 8 runs in the 3rd inning. The team batting average is currently .344.
Four Scots had multi-hit games – Jett Swetland, Dalton Stambaugh, Byron Belcher and Wyatt Gresh. The Scots hit two home runs in the game – one by Stambaugh and one by Swetland. Belcher and Swetland also doubled for Scots. Belcher led the way with RBI; Swetland, Stambaugh, Gresh, and Conner Ulrey also had more than 1 RBI apiece. Andrew Stillwell scored four times for Highland.
The Scots play at Elgin on Tuesday.
